Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope your day was filled with sweet gestures, lingering smiles and chocolate smudges all over your white iPhone screens.
Let’s talk about this pink and red sparkled holiday for a minute… some people love it, some people despise it, and some are just indifferent. Generally there’s a direct correlation between ones current relash status and their v-day outlook. Ladies, I’m lookin’ at you! I know, I know, it can be difficult to be the single gal in your office, watching with a heavy heart while others around you receive flowers and treats from their lovers and you don’t even have a single ounce of chocolate to numb the pain. But, honestly c’mon girls, are you going to let being solo get you down? Nope, what you’re going to do is carpe the hell out of this diem and let someone special know you care! May it be your best friend, your going-out buddy, your roommate, or a friend across the country to send a quick text saying, “Hey there, Valentine! Hope you’re day is going great!” As easy as it is to get caught up in me, me, me it’s not always about receiving, you can make yourself feel good by making others feel good, its the gift of giving.
Since my G’s are my main sqeeze right now, I had a couple single ladies in mind that I thought deserved a visit from the v-day fairy! (me, not the chubby cherub that flys around with heart nosed arrows) I obviously had to pick up their favorite wine, what’s a holiday with out your yummiest bev? and paired it with a humorous card and sweet words to make them giggle- I hope it did the trick!
My girlfriends and I took a page right out of Leslie Knope’s book from Parks and Rec and held a Galentine’s Day Party on Monday night, ya know Gals+Valentine=Galentine, hehe. This soiree was conveniently held the evening that my nutrition challenge ended, so if you can imagine, I may or may not have had more than one red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting… whoops, sorry I’m not sorry. The night was filled with sugar cookie decorations, a little bubbly, The Bachelor (duh, every Monday) and a slumber party to cap it off, and no boys… there was no pillow fight.
